What should I do to get started Birding?

All you have to do to start is just get outside and start looking! A pair of binoculars can help to see birds from a distance. Grab a field guide to birds of your area from a bookstore or your local library, and start making a checklist of all the species of birds you see! Learn about the different parts of a bird, and how to identify them! Go online to find groups of people sharing the interest in the hobby, and go on field trips with other birders! Finding a new "lifer" bird that you haven't see before can give you all the motivation to get outside, and start birding!
